Während eines Kaisermanövers auf dem Großen Sand bedachte er Kaiser Wilhelm II. mit dem \"Götz-Zitat\" und musste wg. Majestätsbeleidigung fliehen; später konnte er sich freikaufen. Um jedoch den Kaiser bei künftigen Manövern zu ärgern, kaufte er von der Gemeinde Budenheim 378 Morgen Kiefernwald und ließ darin zw. 1908-10 das Schloss Waldthausen erbauen, das er von 1912 bis in den 1.
