Zudem war er Rittergutsbesitzer v. Gut Balden bei Merzig. 1831 wurde er Mitglied der Gesellschaft für nützliche Forschungen zu Trier (vormals: Société des recherches utiles du département de la Sarre à Trèves). 1833 wurde er zum stellvertr.
