Christoph Thomas Scheffler (1699-1756), der damals die Deckengemälde der Kirche St. Paulin in Trier ausführte, wird nicht ausgeschlossen (u.a. Knuth). W's größtes (bekanntes) Werk ist die Deckenmalerei in der Pfarrkirche St. Michael in Piesport (Mosel). In der Kirche Trier-St. Paulin stammt das Dreikönigsbild v. ihm. Auch als Porträtmaler war W tätig. Während der Säkularisation wurde W als Taxator bei der Versteigerung v.
