  "biographicalOrHistoricalInformation" : [ "Johann Christoph Eickemeyer wurde 1720 im thüringischen Eichsfeld geboren, das damals zum Erzstift Mainz gehörte. Nach seiner Schulzeit studierte Johann Christoph Eickemeyer zunächst in Erfurt, später Mathematik in Göttingen. \nIm Oktober 1744 ging er nach Mainz und trat als Fähnrich in das Ingenieurkorps ein.\nAls Ingenieuroffizier übernahm Johann Christoph Eickemeyer später bautechnische Aufgaben innerhalb und außerhalb der Stadt Mainz. Dazu gehörten Projekte wie die Erneuerung von Zugbrücken, die Ausführung des Brückenkopfs in Kastel und der Bau eines Damms am Main. Er war außerdem an der Konstruktion der Kellergewölbe des Kurfürstlichen Schlosses beteiligt und entwarf die Pläne für den Neubau des Marstalls, dem heutigen Sitz des Mainzer Landesmuseums.\nIn den Jahren 1771 bis 1774 bildete Johann Christoph Eickemeyer an der „Schullehrer-Akademie“ in Mainz zukünftige Lehrer in Mathematik, Mechanik und Baukunst aus. \nVon 1775 bis 1777 lehrte er Mathematik an der kurfürstlichen Universität. \n1779 zog Johann Chistoph Eickemeyer nach Gau-Algesheim, wo seine Frau ein Hofgut besaß; Ab 1789 gehörte er dem kurmainzischen Hofkriegsrat an. \nJohann Christoph Eickemeyer starb 1797 in Gau-Algesheim. Sein Sohn ist der Mathematiker Rudolf Eickemeyer.\n" ],
