Am 25.10.1806 zum \"Zertificateur-Notar\" in Zell ernannt, dort auch Maire (Bürgermeister). Personenstands-Beurkundungen durch ihn liegen für die Zeit vom 24.7.1803 bis 11.7.1818 vor. Er hatte Hausbesitz und Weinberge in Merl. Landrat J.A. Moritz beendete in Zell seine Karriere wegen seiner pro-französischen Gesinnung, vorgeschoben wurden vom Landrat Amtsverfehlungen.
